I write mystery-romance novels and books on British native shamanism. I’ve been writing all my life, and professionally since 1999. I'm a wilderness woman, born on Dartmoor, grew up on Exmoor, and from a long family tradition of British cunning folk. I now live with my husband, cats and a host of wildlife in the wild Welsh Marches of Britain where I also teach British native shamanism.

So, in 1999, I began to write seriously and got published. Then, in 2011, Trevor Greenfield of John Hunt Publishing found me. They published The Celtic Chakras the following year and I've not looked back since. Celtic Chakras, Elen of the Ways, and Trees of the Goddess are best-sellers. The other books are doing well, with Merlin: once & future wizard taking off.

My first novel, Owl Woman, is indie-published but John Hunt took my second novel, Moon Song. I'm now working on my third, Whispering Bones, which I hope will be out there in 2018/19. The story is – attractive, feisty dancer, Jehanne, becomes intimate friends with beautiful biker-moll, Fiona. Then Jehanne falls in love with an older man, Jack who is an artist, and her best friend becomes her enemy. Fiona is spiteful and clever, she sets up a situation where Jack gets in deep trouble and runs away from Jehanne, telling her not to follow him. But she does. This draws all three of them deep into a supernatural power game, from which only one of the women will come out alive.

I began my working life as a contemporary dancer then, after 5 years, went on to be a teacher but while I loved the children, I just did not fit the system! I went on to work for the Ministry of Defence, MOD, first in Personnel, then Finance, and finally became a systems analyst, project managing the build of the first relational databases and "Windows-like" system for Defence Sales.

At the same time, I danced for Arlene Philips at Pineapple, London, which was amazingly good fun until I became crippled with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. I left the MOD to become a Transpersonal Psychotherapist until, in 1999, I couldn't stand the city any longer and ran away to the dark, still depths of Wales. I did a short spell as a garden designer, winning medals at the Royal Horticultural Society Hampton Court Palace Shows for 3 years, but the need to write was eating me up.

The wilderness always calls me home so I now live with my husband, cats and a host of wildlife in the back of beyond, the magical twilight world of the Welsh Marches, in Britain. There just aren't enough hours in the day to fit everything in, but when I’m not writing or teaching you may find me walking the wilds, painting watercolours, spinning, weaving or knitting, cooking up hedgerow brews or gardening. And reading, reading, reading! But I cannot imagine life without writing. Nor without cats.
