Pete Jennings

Pete Jennings was born in Ipswich, Suffolk in 1953. He was educated at Northgate Grammar School and went on to complete an apprenticeship with Post Office Telephones, for whom he became an external planning engineer. In the late 1970s he switched to a career as a salesman and sales manager, working for several prestigious companies such as United Biscuits and Coca Cola, where he was UK Salesman of the Year in 1986. After eventual redundancy at another company and a variety of temporary jobs he found a new vocation in care work, especially adults with learning disability. In time he gained a BA (Hons) in Social Work, and continued to work as a registered social worker until quite recently. Outside of work he also qualified as a counsellor & psychotherapist, and is registered as a Member of the BACP.
Pete has two adult children by his first marriage, plus a second family with his second wife of 20 years Sue. He lives with her just over the Essex / Suffolk border.
An active ‘other’ life has seen him as a successful DJ with 20 years of local radio folk shows plus an earlier stint as a disco dj and singer with both folk and rock bands. He has also done some acting, run ghost tours, and written over a dozen books.
His Heathen path within the Pagan group of religions has led him to be High Gothi of Odinshof and is a retired President of the Pagan Federation. He continues to write and lecture on the Pagan scene, but also regularly re-enacts Anglo Saxon life with the group Ealdfaeder at Sutton Hoo and other historic sites.
