Rebecca Beattie

Rebecca Beattie lives on Dartmoor, and has a PhD in Creative Writing from Middlesex University, where she is researched and wrote a novel about Mary Webb. She has previously written two novels, 'The Lychway', and 'Somewhere She Is There', and a book of short stories, 'The Softness Of Water'. Her book 'Pagan Portals: Nature Mystics' for Moon Books looked at ten writers and their influence on the cultural cauldron that enabled Modern Paganism to emerge in the Twentieth Century. The ten included DH Lawrence, Sylvia Townsend Warner, Mary Butts, Thomas Hardy and Tolkien. Rebecca has been a regular teacher at Treadwell's Books in Bloomsbury for many years, and has a website at www.rebeccabeattie.co.uk
