Simon Andrew Stirling

Simon Andrew Stirling trained as an actor at LAMDA before turning professional as a freelance writer. He scripted television and radio programmes, winning a Writers' Guild Award for his work on "Between the Lines" (BBC/Island World), and also worked on more exotic projects, such as the English-language adaptation of a Danish comic opera libretto for Opera North and the audio-visual "Discovery" exhibition for Dundee Industrial Heritage. He was Youth and Community Director at The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury, for two years, and has since taught screenwriting, film studies, digital video production, drama and public speaking in a variety of educational settings. Married on the Isle of Iona in 2002, Simon published his first major historical investigation, "The King Arthur Conspiracy", in 2012. This was quickly followed by "Who Killed William Shakespeare?" in 2013. "Shakespeare's Son: The Life of Sir William Davenant" is due to be published by The History Press in February 2016.
